Kiera McGahee and Landry Garza have been a steady force for the Mustang Broncos this season, but on Tuesday night, the senior duo was nearly perfect.
With back-to-back no-hit performances, McGahee and Garza led the Broncos to a doubleheader sweep over Midwest City, combining for nine strikeouts with just one walk over six innings.
Garza notched her no-hitter in a 12-0 win, racking up four strikeouts with one walk over three innings. She also went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI-double and a walk.
McGahee’s perfect game came in a 11-0 win with five strikeouts over three innings. She also went 2-for-2 at the dish with a triple, RBI, and a run scored.

The Broncos scored four runs in the first inning of Game 1 before sealing the run-rule win with eight runs in the bottom of the second.
Senior Olivia See went 2-for-2 with a run scored while freshman Lexy Kierstead, junior Emerson Pegram, seniors Logan Pickelsimer and Mackie Vaught, and junior Rylee Hannon all notched a hit. Pickelsimer led the team with three RBI while Kierstead and Pegram each drove in two.
Mustang plated nine runs in the bottom of the first before scoring two more in the second to complete the doubleheader sweep.
Kierstead picked up two hits in Game 2, including a double with two RBI and two runs scored. Junior Arionna McElroy went 1-for-2 with an RBI-triple while junior Shaye Rowe went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
The sweep marked four straight wins for the Broncos dating back to a 2-0 victory over Deer Creek on Aug. 20. The team is now 5-0 in district play.
