Realtor Michael S. Ray Athlete of the Week: Jacee Jimeson cruises to four wins in first two meets of 2023-24 season

After winning four events in Mustang’s first two meets of the 2023-24 season, Jacee Jimeson (Sr.) has been named the Realtor Michael S. Ray Athlete of the Week for the Week of Nov. 20.

The senior captain started the season strong with a pair of wins in the 2023 Norman Meet. She placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.73 and first in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:04.15.

Jimeson followed that performance with another strong showing in the Altus Meet, again winning the 100-yard backstroke (1:13.21) and the 200-yard medley (2:57.96). She also helped lead four relay teams to finishes inside the top five.

The three-time state qualifier is set for a big season, hoping to reach this year’s State Championship Meet in two individual meets as well as relays.

Jimeson and the Broncos continue their season at the Duncan Meet on Friday.

HONORABLE MENTION

Gavin Davis (Sr. / Swimming): Davis finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Norman Meet on Nov. 14 and second in the 50-yard freestyle. He also finished first in the breaststroke event at the Altus Meet and the 100-yard freestyle.

Ace Seck (Jr. / Swimming): Seck finished first in the 100-yard backstroke and third in the 100-yard freestyle at the Altus Meet. He also helped lead the 400-yard freestyle relay team to first place at the Norman Meet.

Dominic Tonn (So. / Swimming): Tonn finished first in the 500-yard freestyle at the Norman Meet while also helping the 400-yard freestyle relay team take first. He finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Altus meet and third in the 100-yard butterfly.
