The Mustang Broncos wrap up the regular season tonight with playoff implications on the line.
The Broncos host Edmond Memorial in a senior night matchup that could decide the fifth and sixth seeds from Class 6A-1 District 2 for the playoffs starting next week.
Mustang ended a four-game losing streak with a 48-10 victory over Edmond North last Friday night while the Bulldogs have lost two straight to Owasso and Union.

MUSTANG OFFENSE
The Broncos are starting to find a rhythm with freshman quarterback Tyson Pogi behind center.
Mustang put up 481 total yards last week vs Edmond North, including 318 through the air and 163 on the ground. Pogi went 16-for-18 for 292 yards and five TD passes. He hooked up with receiver Jaden Johnson (So.) for 254 yards and four scores.
Johnson is up to 51 receptions for 863 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.
The Bronco rushing attack has rolled as well, led by Bryance Sanders (Sr.) and Jack Vaughn (Sr.). The duo combined for 95 yards last week and has combined for 930 yards and 11 touchdowns this year.
MUSTANG DEFENSE
Mustang’s defense needed a big performance last week and answered the bell.
The Broncos allowed just 195 total yards to the Huskies last week, including just 79 through the air and 116 on the ground. Linebackers Parker Sorrell (So.), Caston Meadows (Sr.), and Josiah Stevens (So.) combined for 25 total tackles while Waleed Gaines Jr. (Jr.) led the secondary with three pass breakups.
Meadows leads the team and possibly the state with 136 total tackles this season. Defensive lineman Louie Jones (Jr.) leads the team with four sacks and defensive back Blaine Fulmber (So.) leads the team with three interceptions.
EDMOND MEMORIAL OUTLOOK
The Bulldogs are led by quarterback David McComb, who is committed to the University of Kansas.
McComb has passed for 2,229 yards with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions according to Max Preps. He has completed 55-percent of his passes and has rushed for 446 yards with one score on the ground.
Nick Booker (So.) leads the Bulldogs with 590 rushing yards on 116 carries. He has 12 rushing scores and one TD reception.
Memorial has a bevy of receivers with over 200 yards this season, including Ciaran Pedulla (Sr.), who leads the team with 656 yards on 41 receptions with 11 touchdowns. Levi Peck (Sr.) is second on the team with 588 yards and five scores.
The Bulldog defense has allowed over 37 points per game this season, including 43 per in their last two losses to Owasso and Union.
PLAYOFF POSITIONING
With a win, Mustang locks up the fifth seed in Class 6A-1 District 2. With a loss, Mustang would likely fall to the sixth seed and be jumped by Edmond Memorial. Edmond North would then be knocked out of the playoff bracket.
PREDICTION: MUSTANG 38, EDMOND MEMORIAL 28
The Broncos offense continues to build around its young signal caller while the defense hold Memorial’s powerful offense in check.
Mustang picks up the win and locks up the fifth seed from District 2. The focus then turns to the opening round of the 2023 postseason.
