No. 2 Mustang boys finish fourth in 2024 Pre-State meet at Edmond Santa Fe, Bronco girls take 10th

The No. 2 Mustang Broncos finished fourth in the 2024 Pre-State meet at Edmond Santa Fe on Sept. 21.

Teagan Nelson (Jr.), Sean Kappel (Jr.), Ashton Anderson (Sr.), Jackson Hill (So.), and Myles Mayfield (Sr.) led the way as the team’s placers, all finishing inside the top 50.

Wyatt Karber (Jr.) and Andrew Eller (So.) finished just outside the top 50 as the team’s displacers.

Nelson nabbed a top 15 finish, coming in 12th overall with a time of 16:41.38. Kappel finished inside the top 25 in 24th place, clocking in at 17:08.00. Anderson finished in 28th place with a time of 17:14.35.

Hill and Mayfield rounded out the team’s placers. Hill placed 30th with a time of 17:15.22 while Mayfield placed 47th with a time of 17:52.13.

Karber placed 54th with a time of 18:08.36 while Eller placed 55th, clocking in at 18:12.23.

MUSTANG GIRLS FINISH 10TH

Three racers finished inside the top 50 for the Mustang girls.

Kendall Howell (Sr.), Emerson Hodde (Sr.), and Jayci Klopfenstein (So.) led the way as the team’s top three placers.

Howell finished 22nd overall with a time of 20:57.40 while Hodde clocked in at 21:52.69, finishing 36th. Klopfenstein came in 49th with a time of 22:44.92.

Dylan Britton (Fr.) and Lauren Vivier (Sr.) rounded out the team’s placers.

Britton finished 69th overall with a time of 24:04.43 while Vivier finished 71st, clocking in at 24:13.88.

Londyn Medrano (Sr.) and Arwyn Mann (Jr.) finished as the team’s displacers. Medrano finished with a time of 25:25.51 in 78th place while Mann clocked in at 25:33.18 in 79th place.

NEXT UP

The Broncos continue their season this weekend at the 2024 Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. before returning to Oklahoma for the OK Runner at Norman High School on Oct. 5.
