The second-ranked Mustang Broncos hit the course at Wild Horse Park for their second race and came away with their first title of the season on Aug. 31 under the lights.
All five of the team’s placers finished inside the top 15, leading the Broncos to the 2024 Mustang Harrier Night Race championship. Noah Thayer (Jr.) broke the course record and finished first overall with a time of 15:34.89.
Cameron Langdon (Sr.) finished second overall with a time of 16:19.27 while Teagan Nelson (Jr.) clocked in at 16:54.71 in fifth place.
Sean Kappel (Jr.) and Jackson Hill (Jr.) rounded out the team’s placers. Kappel placed 14th with a time of 17:22.96 while Hill placed 15th with a time of 17:24.56.

Ashton Anderson (Sr.) and Myles Mayfield (Sr.) finished as the team’s displacers. Anderson finished 22nd overall, clocking in at 17:44.92 while Mayfield finished 32nd with a time of 18:17.15.
The Broncos scored 32 team points, finishing 54 points ahead of the second-place Yukon Millers, who are currently ranked No. 12. Class 5A No. 7 Bishop McGuinness finished third with 105 points while 5A No. 6 Blanchard and 5A No. 3 Classen SAS rounded out the top five with 115 and 131 points.
GIRLS RACE
The Mustang girls finished sixth as a team with all five placers inside the top 60 individually.
Emerson Hodde (Sr.), Kendall Howell (Sr.), and Jayci Klopfenstein (So.) all finished inside the top 25. Hodde led the team, finishing 16th overall with a time of 22:03.41 while Howell finished in 17th place with a time of 22:05.23. Klopfenstein finished 22nd, clocking in at 22:28.75.
Arwyn Mann (Jr.) and Lauren Vivier (Sr.) rounded out the team’s placers. Mann finished 51st with a time of 24:22.48 while Vivier finished 55th at 24:44.54.

Natalie Echeverria (So.) was the team’s lone displacer, finishing 58th overall with a time of 24:55.19.
No. 5 Edmond Memorial won the meet with a team score of 45 points. No. 12 Yukon finished second with 68 points and Class 5A No. 3 Blanchard finished third with 76 points.
Yukon’s Avery Nelson (Fr.) finished first individually with a time of 20:30.34.
