SCORING PLAYS

The Broncos (16-6, 9-0) jumped on the board early, scoring two runs on one hit, a sac-fly, and three Titan errors in the bottom of the first inning.

First baseman Rylann Beeson (Sr.) reached on an error at third base and catcher Jade Ashbaugh (So.) each reached on errors, sandwiched around a single by Kierstead to load the bases with one out. Carl Albert’s third mishap of the frame – off the bat of second baseman Abigail Keele (Jr.) – pushed across Mustang’s first run.

McCorvey followed with a sacrifice fly to center field, driving home Kierstead to make it 2-0.

Coach Lacy Darity’s squad scored two more runs in the bottom of the second inning on two hits, a walk, and a fielder’s choice.

Delgado led off the frame with a walk before moving to third base on a double by McGavock. Shortstop Reese Poage (Jr.) followed by reaching on an error. Two outs later, Kierstead picked up her second hit, scoring McGavock and Poage to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Broncos again plated two runs in the top of the third inning, collecting three hits and a walk to make it 6-0.

Keele led off with a single before a two-out knock by Delgado three batters later. A walk to McGavock loaded the bases, followed by a two-RBI single by Poage.

Mustang blew the game open and set up the run rule with three runs on on four hits, a walk, and a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the fourth.

A leadoff double by Kierstead and a walk drawn by Ashbaugh put two runners on, followed by a sac-bunt by Keele to move them into scoring position. McCorvey cleared the pads with a three-run homer to right field, extending the lead to 9-0. Delgado and McGavock each singled later in the inning.

The Titans (12-8, 7-2) scored their lone run of the game with two hits and a walk in the top of the fifth inning.
