JENKS – The Mustang Broncos wrapped up the 2023-24 season last weekend with a strong performance in the Class 6A State Championship Meet at the Jenks Aquatic Center.
The Broncos posted 14 times on route to 15th place overall. The 200-yard medley relay team led the way, capturing a seventh-place medal.
Parker Campbell (Sr.), Dominic Tonn (So.), Gavin Davis (Sr.), and Mason Scott (Jr.) posted a time of 1:34.34 overall to take home Mustang’s lone medal at the meet.
Scott anchored the team with a time of :23.44 with Campbell on the start at :23.90. Tonn was off second with a time of :23.29 and Davis third at :23.44.
“Those guys all swimming sub-:24.50 times – that’s the kind of stuff Jenks and Bartlesville do,” Mustang coach Tony Evans said. “That’s when you know the program is really turning a corner.”

Davis found himself in the finals after an unselfish decision by teammate Ace Seck (Jr.).
Seck went to the coaching staff following prelims and knowing they were almost assured a medal, asked if Davis could take his place in his final meet.
“You have to love that move by Ace, letting Gavin swim in his place on Saturday,” Evans said. “That was just a really cool thing to let him swim knowing they were assured a medal.”
Jackson Fogt (So.) and Skyler Fair (Sr.) joined Davis and Tonn for a 12th place finish in the 200-medley relay. They clocked in at 1:48.87 with Tonn (:23.08) as the anchor and Fogt (:29.94) on the start. Davis posted :28.61 while Fair posted :27.24.
Seven swimmers combined for 12 times individually, including five top 15 finishes.
Scott tied for Mustang’s top individual finish with a 12th place showing in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:50.62. He also finished 13th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of :56.57.
Davis also posted a 12th place time in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 1:03.48. He finished 18th in the 100-yard freestyle as well, with a time of :52.11.
Seck placed inside the top 20 in two events. He placed 15th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.65. and 16th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :23.76.
Campbell and Tonn each added one top 20 and nearly a second.
Campbell placed 15th in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:54.44, and 21st in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :52.43. Tonn placed 17th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.51 and 22nd in the 50-yard freestyle at :23.88.
Austin Price (Sr.) and Fogt rounded out the team’s individual performances.
Price finished 22nd in the 100-yard breaststroke in his final meet, posting a time of 1:10.46, while Fogt finished 24th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.55.
The Broncos finished with 53 team points. The Jenks Trojans ran away with the 6A state title, recording 419 points. Bartlesville finished second with 305 and Edmond North finished third with 280.
