The No. 11 Mustang Broncos reestablished themselves over the weekend and once again proved why they are contenders for this year’s state tournament.
With five straight wins, including three over top-20 Class 6A opponents, the Broncos cruised to the Stillwater Invitational championship last weekend. They defeated the host Pioneers 2-1 in the title match.
NOTES FROM THE TOURNAMENT:
Seniors Adisen Williamson and Erin Mack were named to the All-Tournament team after helping lead the Broncos to the title.
Williamson finished the tournament with 37 assists and 27 digs, helping lead Mustang both offensively and defensively. Mack led the team with 30 kills while tallying 10 blocks on the defensive end.

The Broncos opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over the Oklahoma City Storm before defeating No. 13 Norman North in two straight sets. Mustang, who defeated the Timberwolves in a regular season match in August, is now 2-0 against North.
Coach Blake Newman’s squad returned on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Union before knocking off No. 15 Piedmont in two sets. The Broncos capped the tournament with their win over the Pioneers.
