The Mustang Broncos picked up a top-five finish on Saturday at Wild Horse Park, led by a top-five run by senior Carol Le.
Le cranked out a time of 21:28.19 in front of a tremendous crowd ready to watch the most unique race of the season. The Mustang Harrier is the only race run at night with lights guiding runners through the course.
Emerson Hodde (Jr.) filed in behind Le, placing 18th with a time of 23:05.83. Morgan McClain (So.) also placed inside the top-25, coming in 25th with a time of 23:41.60.
Two other Mustang racers cracked the top-40, including Kiara Smith (Sr.) and Lauren Vivier (Jr.).
Smith finished 29th with a time of 24:01.59 while Vivier placed 39th, clocking in at 24:27.83. It is the second straight week to start the season with this group making up Mustang’s top-five.
For a second straight week as well, Julia Sroczynski (So.) helped close out the team’s top-seven runners. She placed 74th with a time of 26:55.20. Natalia Echeverria (Fr.) came in seventh for the Broncos and 89th overall, crossing the finish line in 30:00.05.
The Broncos scored 116 points, clearing fourth-place Bishop McGuinness by 35. Edmond Memorial won the meet with 33 points, Choctaw finished second with 63, and Yukon finished third with 86.
Choctaw’s Kristen Kirk won the individual crown with a time of 20:29.35. Kiera Blumhof from Yukon finished second (21:01.98) and Victoria Ma Juneau finished third (21:20.43).

The Broncos now turn their focus to the 2023 Western Days Stampede runs this weekend before returning to regular season action at the Westmoore Jaguar Jamboree on Sept. 16.
