The Mustang Bronco pom squad is hosting a community showcase this Sunday with special performances the team has prepared for different events, including the state and national competitions.
The showcase is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Mustang High School Event Center with tickets priced at $5 for the public and $2 for those with a valid student ID. Only cash will be accepted for tickets.
The Broncos, who competed in the Dance Team Union regional competition in Tulsa on Nov. 19, are hoping for a big crowd this Sunday.
“We’re trying to engage with the community and the students,” Mustang coach Kelly Noble said. “We do a lot of competitions out of town so this gives us a chance to perform in front of parents and fans at home and gives them an opportunity to see our performances.”
The showcase will also act as a fundraiser for the team.
The Broncos placed third in both Jazz and Hip Hop at the Dance Team Union regional competition on Nov. 19. They placed seventh in the spirit showdown. Mustang’s junior varsity placed second in both Jazz and Hip Hop and third in the spirit showdown.
Mustang will compete in the Oklahoma State Dance Team Directors Association state competition on Dec. 9 at the Cox Convention Center in Tulsa. The Dance Team Union national competition is set for Feb. 10 in Orlando, Fla.
