The Mustang Broncos capped their season last week with a 13th place finish in the 2022 Class 6A state championship meet at Edmond Santa Fe.
The Broncos scored 321 points and reeled off a total time of 1:46.42 at the meet, including a top-five average time of 21:20.40.
Katie Jones (Sr.), Carol Le (Jr.), Emily Krafft (Sr.), Londyn Medrano (So.), and Claire Shriver (Fr.) finished as the team’s placers followed by Emerson Hodde (So.) and Madison Smith (So.) as the displacers.
Jones paced the team, placing 40th overall with a time of 20:17.37, followed by Le who placed 56th with a time of 21:01.03.
Krafft placed 68th in her final high school race, finishing with a time of 21:25.23. Medrano followed close behind in 77th with a time of 21:54.20 while Shriver rounded out the team’s score in 80th place, crossing the finish line with a time of 22:04.17.
Hodde and Smith just missed out on scoring times. Hodde placed 85th overall with a time of 22:31.23 while Smith finished 88th with a time of 22:42.53.
Owasso won the state championship with 72 points, just 11 points ahead of runner-up Deer Creek and 17 points ahead of third-place Edmond North.
Mustang finished the regular season ranked No. 15 in Class 6A. The Broncos, who improved throughout the season, graduate three seniors total, including Jones, Krafft, and Angela Daini.
