11 Broncos take home postseason honors; Mason selected to All-State team

11 Mustang Broncos earned postseason honors following a trip to the 2024 Class 6A State Tournament in October, including top honorees Amelia Mason (Sr.), Reese Poage (Jr.), and Abigail Keele (Jr.).

Mason was selected to the 2024 Large West Fastpitch All-State Team and was named the Class 6A District 4 Pitcher of the Year. She was also named Large West All-Region and was selected to the All-COAC Second Team after going 17-4 with 117 and 1/3 innings pitched, 99 strikeouts, a 1.73 earned run average, a 1.057 WHIP, and one save.

Poage was named the 6A District 4 Player of the Year and was selected to the All-COAC First Team after a fantastic junior season. The Oklahoma State-commit finished with a .366 batting average, a .437 on-base percentage, a .598 slugging percentage, five home runs, 27 RBI, seven doubles, two triples, 39 runs scored, and just four strikeouts.

Keele was named the 6A District 4 Offensive Player of the Year and was named All-COAC Honorable Mention after a breakout campaign. She finished with a .434 batting average, a .520 on-base percentage, a .614 slugging percentage, one home run, 27 RBI, eight doubles, two triples, 25 runs scored, and just six strikeouts.

  • OF – Lexy Kierstead (Jr.) / All-District 6A-4 & All-COAC Second Team

  • OF – Weslyn McCorvey (Fr.) / All-District 6A-4 & All-COAC Honorable Mention

Mustang coach Lacy Darity was also named the Class 6A District 4 Coach of the Year after helping guide her squad to a 27-9 record overall and a perfect 14-0 record in district play.
