Mustang’s Noah Thayer helped lead the Broncos to first place in the 2024 Mustang Harrier night race last weekend at Wild Horse Park – the team’s first win of the season.
Thayer has been named the J M Insurance Agency Athlete of the Week for the Week of Sept. 2 after finishing first individually and breaking former Bronco Gabe Simonsen’s course record with a time of 15:34.89.
The junior harrier is off to a strong start this season, including his first-place run last week and a ninth-place finish at the season-opening Field Run Festival at Deer Creek High School on Aug. 24. He finished second overall last season in the Class 6A State Championship Meet at Edmond Santa Fe.
Thayer and the Broncos will host Western Days festivities this weekend before continuing their season at the Pre-State meet on Sept. 21 at Santa Fe.
