Shortstop Reese Poage (Jr.) helped lead the Mustang Broncos to two district wins and a pair of victories in the 2024 Oklahoma High School Fast Pitch Festival at USA Hall of Fame Stadium last week.
Poage, one of the top players in the state, has been named the J M Insurance Agency Athlete of the Week for the Week of Aug. 19 after going 12-for-18 at the plate with three doubles, one triple, one walk, six runs scored and five RBI across five games. She also played stellar defense in the field.
She went 4-for-4 with one RBI and one run in a 7-4 win over Bixby on Aug. 19 before going 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple, two runs, and two RBI in a 11-1 win over Jenks on Aug. 20, helping the Broncos move to 3-0 in Class 6A District 4 play.
The star infielder then went 5-for-9 with one double, one walk, two runs, and two RBI against Bethany, Westmoore, and the OKC Broncos at Devon Park last weekend.
Poage and the Broncos look to stay hot this week with road games at Ponca City and Deer Creek before a double header next Tuesday at Putnam City West.
