Registration still open for Bronco Youth Offensive Skills Camp, Tackle Academy, Summer Pride

The Mustang High School football program is gearing up for camp season and Summer Pride with school ending and the countdown to Friday nights in the Fall officially under way.

MHS is hosting multiple camps as well as its annual Summer Pride program with activities set up for athletes in grades ranging from pre-K to 12th.

Each camp and workout features what the staff calls “vertical alignment” which allows youth and middle school players to start familiarizing themselves with schemes and concepts the high school team uses. The Mustang Youth Football Association also uses vertical alignment with the community’s little league teams.

BRONCO YOUTH FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE SKILLS ACADEMY PADDED CAMP (6U-8U & 9U-11U)

  • 6U-8U DATE: June 10-11
  • 9U-11U DATE: June 17-18
  • TIME: 6-8 p.m.
  • LOCATION: Bronco Stadium
  • COST: $100
  • WHAT TO WEAR: Full Pads (Pants with pads, helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, jersey/practice jersey, cleats)
  • WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle

This camp focuses on the physical aspect of offensive football. Campers will learn how to play “Physical Fast” or “Phast” which is a term the high school team uses to describe their physical and fast approach to the game.

The camp will be using the same practice format as the high school team. Players will receive individual instruction from varsity position coaches and take part in group work, team scenarios, and competition drills.

This camp is for offensive players from every position, including offensive line, tight end, running back, wide receiver, and quarterback.

BRONCO YOUTH FOOTBALL TACKLE ACADEMY PADDED CAMP (6U-8U & 9U-11U)

  • 6U-8U DATE: June 17-18
  • 9U-11U DATE: June 10-11
  • TIME: 6-8 p.m.
  • LOCATION: Bronco Stadium
  • COST: $100
  • WHAT TO WEAR: Full Pads (Pants with pads, helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, jersey/practice jersey, cleats)
  • WHAT TO BRING: Water bottle

This is a padded camp that dives deep into the art of tackling. It is designed to give youth football players the knowledge and confidence needed to consistently make safe and effective football tackles.

This camp is coached by the MHS coaching staff, who will be assisted by defensive players from the high school team.

All MYFA coaches are strongly encouraged to attend camp to watch drills and learn how to implement them into youth practices for the 2024 season.

 

YOUTH SUMMER PRIDE

  • DATES: June 10-13, 17-20, 24-27
  • PRE-K – 1ST GRADE TIME: 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
  • 2ND – 4TH GRADE TIME: 8:15 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
  • LOCATION: North end of MHS football practice field
  • COST: $175 (plus $6.50 online registration fee)

 

SUMMER PRIDE (5TH GRADE-HIGH SCHOOL)

  • DATES: June 10-13, 17-20, 24-27 & July 8-11, 15-18, 22-25
  • 5TH – 7TH GRADE GIRLS: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
  • 8TH – 9TH GRADE GIRLS: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • 9TH – 12TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL: 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
  • 5TH – 6TH GRADE BOYS: 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
  • 7TH – 8TH GRADE BOYS: 7:45 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.
  • 9TH GRADE BOYS: 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • 10TH-12TH GRADE FOOTBALL: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • 10TH-12TH OLYMPIC SPORTS GIRLS: 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • 10TH-12TH OLYMPIC SPORTS BOYS: 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • LOCATION: MHS Wellness Center & Bronco Stadium
  • COST: $175 (plus $6.50 online registration fee), $150 for Olympic Sports (plus $6.50 online registration fee)
  • NOTE: All athletes should be entering each grade for the 2024-25 school year
