Four players broke 90 to help lead the Mustang Broncos to third place at the Choctaw Creek Men’s Invitational last week.

Johnathan Benton (So.), Beau Henderson (So.), and Ty Gregg (Sr.) all shot 13-over-par 84 while Antonio Smith (Jr.) shot a 14-over-par 85. Brady Mansell (So.) wasn’t far behind with a 20-over-par 91.

Benton, who started on hole No. 6, shot matching 42s on the front and back nine. He finished with seven pars, including four on the back.

Henderson started on No. 7 and finished 9-over-par on the back nine. He cleaned things up on the front part of the course, coming in with a 4-over-par 39. He finished with eight pars, including the first and third toughest handicap.

Gregg, who started on No. 10, also parred eight holes while shooting an 8-over-par 44 on the back nine and a 5-over-par 40 on the front. He got hot midway through his round, parring six out of seven holes starting with the 17th. He capped the run with four straight pars on holes 2-5.

Benton, Henderson, and Gregg all finished T-9 individually.

Smith, who finished 12th, shot a 6-over-par 42 on the back nine and a 8-over-par 43 on the front. He parred nine holes, including five on the front, but also carded three doubles and a triple to keep him out of a possible top 5 finish.

Mansell shot a 7-over-par 43 on the back nine before a 13-over-par 48 on the front. He parred four holes on the back nine, including the No. 2 and No. 6 handicap.

The Broncos shot 337 as a team, finishing just two strokes behind the second place Oklahoma City Storm. Bishop McGuinness won the tournament with a score of 320.
