Broncos score 41 runs, allow zero hits in district sweep of Lawton

The Mustang Broncos cruised to a district sweep of Lawton on April 8-9, scoring 41 runs while allowing zero hits in both games.

Mustang won 19-0 in Game 1 and 22-0 in Game 2, each game going just five innings.

The Broncos recorded 20 hits in the first game, including doubles by Carlos Lopez (Sr.), Jake Blice (Sr.), Thor Pilgrim (Sr.), and Wyatt Williamson (So.). Pilgrim went 3-for-3 with two extra-base hits and two RBI.

Pilgrim, Lopez, Blice, Jackson Pickelsimer (Sr.), Maddox Lawson (Sr.), Kaden Williams (Jr.), and Carson Sawyer (Sr.) all recorded multi-hit efforts in the victory.

Pickelsimer earned the victory on the mound, striking out six without allowing a baserunner. Teagan Munson (Sr.) recorded the final three outs, including to Ks.

MUSTANG 22, LAWTON 0

Mustang finished with 14 hits in Game 2, including a game-high three hits by Lopez.

The senior lefty started the game on the mound, recording seven strikeouts over three innings while also going 3-for-3 at the plate with three RBI and one walk.

Lawson, Pickelsimer, Pierce Corley (Sr.), and Sawyer all tallied two hits. They also combined for seven RBI.

Gavin Ivy (Sr.) and Jacob Haller (Sr.) closed the game out on the bump.

Ivy struck out the side in the fourth inning while Haller recorded two Ks in the fifth.
