The No. 4 Mustang Broncos rebounded from a loss to top-ranked Choctaw with a 14-2 win over Elgin last Monday at the Mustang Softball Complex.
The Broncos dominated in all facets, racking up 15 hits while committing zero errors in the field. Senior hurler Emerson Pegram allowed just three hits and two walks in the victory.
Eden Anderson (Sr.), Lexy Kierstead (So.), and Nyli Brown (Jr.) combined for five home runs, including two bombs and three RBI by Anderson. Kierstead drove in two runs from the leadoff spot while Brown went 2-for-3 with a double from the two-hole.
Rylee Hannon (Sr.) led the team with three hits while Rylann Beeson (So.) and Reese Poage (So.) each collected two, including a double by Poage.
Arionna McElroy (Sr.), Kenzie Sessions (Sr.), and Pegram each finished with one hit while combining for four RBI. McElroy, Anderson, Beeson, Poage, Shaye Rowe (Sr.), and Sessions all drew one walk.
The Broncos scored three runs in the first inning on three RBI singles by McElroy, Hannon, and Poage. They added nine runs in the third with home runs by Anderson, Kierstead, and Brown, a fielder’s choice by Rowe, a double by Sessions, and a single by Pegram.
They scored two runs in the fourth on Anderson’s second homer and a double by Poage.
