All-District rosters were released this week with 12 Mustang Broncos listed as First Team Offense, First Team Defense, and Honorable Mention.

Coach Lee Blankenship’s squad went 6-5 overall and 3-4 in Class 6A-1 District 2. They defeated Yukon, Edmond Memorial, and Edmond North in district play.

Check out the list of Broncos named All-District this week:

Bryance Sanders (Sr.) / FIRST TEAM – RB

Sanders rushed for 1,057 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final season as a Bronco. He averaged 6.7 yards per carry on 158 attempts and also finished with 16 receptions for 125 yards.

L.B. Hayes (Sr.) / FIRST TEAM – WR

Hayes capped his high school career with 49 receptions for 585 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged 11.9 yards per catch and set a new school record with 16 receptions in one game.

Aden Monzon (Sr.) / FIRST TEAM – DS

Mustang’s special teams would have had zero success in 2023 if it weren’t for Monzon’s exception deep snapping skills. Monzon has multiple offers to play at the next level and also features a 4.4 overall GPA with a 33 ACT score.

Warren was selected to the First Team Defense even after suffering a season-ending injury in Week 8 vs Norman. The senior safety still finished with 96 total tackles, two interceptions, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, and two tackles for loss.

Michael Johnson (Sr.) / FIRST TEAM – DL

Johnson was stellar along Mustang’s defensive line, amassing 69 total tackles with 7.5 tackles for loss. He tied Louie Jones (Jr.) for a team-high 4.5 sacks while forcing two fumbles and hurrying quarterbacks eight times.

Russell Zolicoffer (Sr.) / FIRST TEAM – DL

Zolicoffer capped his high school career with 53 total tackles and five tackles for loss. The senior rarely left the field in 2023, tallying two sacks, one forced fumble, and six quarterback hurries.

Jack Vaughn (Sr.) / HONORABLE MENTION – RB

Vaughn helped spearhead Mustang’s rushing attack along with Sanders, rushing for 314 yards with two touchdowns. He averaged 6.28 yards per carry on 50 attempts.
