Broncos rack up six top-five times against state’s top squads in Edmond

The Mustang Broncos faced off with some of the top teams in the state at the 2023 Edmond Meet prior to Christmas Break.

The Mustang boys racked up six top-five finishes while the Bronco girls placed inside the top-10 in seven events.

Mason Scott and Gavin Davis combined for three top-five marks to help lead the boys.

Scott finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of :56.11 and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of :59.22.

Davis finished with the team’s highest score at the meet, placing second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.82.

All three relay teams turned out top-five performances.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Davis, Scott, Parker Campbell, and Dominic Tonn finished fourth with a time of 1:49.54 while the 400-yard freestyle team of Tonn, Scott, Davis, and Ace Seck finished fourth with a time of 3:37.82.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Campbell, Seck, Skyler Fair, and Austin Price finished fifth, clocking in at 1:41.02.

Campbell added a seventh-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle and placed 10th in the 100-yard backstroke. Seck tallied a seventh-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and added a ninth place showing in the 200-yard freestyle.

Davis placed ninth in the 200-yard medley while Tonn finished 10th. Tonn also finished eighth in the 500-yard freestyle.

Dalton Le finished ninth in the 100-yard butterfly while Price finished 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke.

GIRLS

Brenda Nguyen and Jacee Jimeson led the Bronco girls, combining for all four individual top-10 finishes.

Nguyen placed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :56.67 and sixth in the 200-yard medley, clocking in at 2:34.32.

Jimeson finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.56 and 10th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:20.41.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Jimeson, Nguyen, Addy PadillaAscoy, and Julian Hua finished sixth while the 200-yard medley team of Jimeson, Nguyen, PadillaAscoy, and Aurora Grant finished seventh.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Keaton Brown, Avery Halcomb, Cori Phelan, and Lillian Pinkerton finished ninth.
