The Mustang Broncos are off to a fast start this season, winning multiple events in their first two meets at Norman and Altus.
The Broncos opened the season on Nov. 14 at the 2023 Norman Meet, winning six events, including three individual victories and two relays.
Jacee Jimeson (Sr.) carried the torch for the girls team, winning two events while also racing with two relay teams.
The senior captain won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.73 and the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.15. She also helped lead the 200-yard medley relay team to a third-place finish and the 400-yard freestyle relay to third place.
The 200-yard medley relay team also included Julian Hua (Jr.), Brenda Nguyen (Sr.), and Catherine Hunter (Sr.). They clocked in at 2:12.39 while the Jimeson, Addy Padilla (So.), Keaton Brown (So.), and Nguyen finished with a time of 4:36.11 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Padilla, Hua, Aurora Grant (Fr.), and Lillian Pinkerton (Jr.) finished second with a time of 2:07.86.
Nguyen, a three-time state qualifier and medalist from the 2022-23 season, raced two individual events. She finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:07.39 and fourth in the 200-yard medley with a time of 2:33.29.
Hua also tallied a pair of top-five finishes. The junior finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:12.93 and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:06.84.
Pinkerton and Avery Halcomb (So.) also finished in the top five in two events.
Pinkerton racked up a third place showing in the 200-yard freestyle (2:52.13) and a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (1:13.14). Halcomb finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (8:09.99) and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.22).
Cori Phelan (Sr.) finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:23.75.
ALTUS MEET
Jimeson once again led the way in the team’s second meet, finishing first in two events while leading two relays.
She picked up her second win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:13.21 and won for the first time in the 200-yard medley, clocking in at 2:57.96.
Padilla, Hunter, and Grant all finished runner-up in separate events.
Padilla finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :32.87. She also finished third in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:27.95.

Hunter finished second in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 6:47.66. She also finished fifth in the 200-yard medley at 3:34.07.
Grant finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:44.77. She also clocked in at :34.57 in the 50-yard freestyle for third place.
Pinkerton finished third in two events, including the 200-yard freestyle (3:06.37) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:21.98). Brown also raced in two events, finishing third in the 400-yard freestyle (6:59.41) and fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:47.86).
Phelan finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:44.65 while Hua tallied a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:48.29.
Halcomb finished fifth in the 200-yard medley (3:14.27), Halcomb finished fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:26.66), Katelyn Perrine (So.) finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle (:42.44), and Isabella Bethel (Fr.) finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly (1:53.55).
All three relay teams finished in second place at the meet.
The 200-yard medley team of Jimeson, Hua, Brown, and Diana Aviles (Jr.) clocked in at 2:36.38 while the 200-yard freestyle team of Padilla, Pinkerton, Grant, and Hua finished with a time of 2:20.90.
The 400-yard freestyle team of Brown, Hunter, Pinkerton, and Jimeson finished in 5:32.91.
The Broncos continue their season on Friday at the 2023 Duncan Meet before a big meet in Edmond on Dec. 7.
