Five Broncos set to compete in Class 6A State Championship Meet

Five Mustang Broncos will compete in the Class 6A State Championship Meet on Saturday at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

Carol Le (Sr.), Emerson Hodde (Jr.), Jayci Klopfenstein (Fr.), Kendall Howell (Jr.), and Kiara Smith (Sr.) will join the Class 6A teams and compete for individual medals on Saturday. The Broncos finished eighth at the 6A West Regional Meet, coming up short of reaching state as a team.

Le placed 28th at regionals with a time of 20:55. Howell placed 33rd, clocking in at 21:55, while Hodde placed 42nd at 22:24.

Klopfenstein will make her state debut after placing 46th at regionals, finishing in 22:38. Smith will make her final appearance after placing 49th with a time of 22:48.

Natalia Echeverria (Fr.) and Julia Sroczynski (So.) finished as the team’s displacers at the regional meet, crossing the finish line in 54th and 55th place.

The Class 6A girls are set to kick off championship Saturday, going off at 8:30 a.m. at Edmond Santa Fe. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m.
