Broncos host regional tournament this week; Opener against Northwest Classen on Tuesday

It’s postseason time in Oklahoma and the Mustang Broncos are set to host one of eight Class 6A regional tournaments this week at Bronco Stadium.

The winner from each regional will advance to the Class 6A state tournament Oct. 13-15 at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

The District 6A-1 champion Broncos (19-8, 13-1) open regional action against the District 6A-2 Northwest Classen Knights (1-21, 0-14) on Tuesday at 12 p.m. The winner advances to the tournament semifinals at 6 p.m. while the loser moves to the elimination game at 4 p.m.

The District 6A-2 Yukon Millerettes (18-15, 9-5) and 6A-1 Lawton Wolverines (10-15, 5-9) square off in Game 2 of the opening round at 2 p.m.

The regional championship is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m. with an if-game at 5 p.m. if necessary. The second elimination game will kick off action on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Southmoore, Edmond Memorial, Westmoore, Jenks, Stillwater, Choctaw, and Broken Arrow are the other seven regional hosts.

Tickets for can be purchased online from OSSAA.com for $8.35 or for $10 at the gate.
