Mustang softball, volleyball teams open fall sports season Friday

Fall sports kick off today as the Mustang Broncos softball and volleyball teams hit the road for season-opening tournament action.

The Mustang softball team travels to Arrowhead Park in Broken Arrow for the 2022 BA tournament. They open with back-to-back pool play games against Class 4A Hilldale and Class 3A Dewey, starting at 1:40 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. matchup against Class 5A Pryor.

Mustang closes pool play Saturday against Class 5A Tahlequah before bracket play in the afternoon.

Mustang’s volleyball team opens the season today with a pair of back-to-back matches against Broken Arrow and Edmond Santa Fe in the 2022 Norman tournament, starting at 10:30 a.m., before closing the day with a 3 p.m. match against Edmond North.

Bracket play in the Norman tournament begins Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Mustang cross country teams, which begin action next weekend, are taking part in the program’s 12-hour run tonight at Bronco Stadium. The first meet of the season is scheduled for next Saturday at Deer Creek.
